Unfortunately, FromSoftware never reverted to the Xbox One version of Dark Souls 3 to add OneX support. But it worked in the long run-PlayStation 5’s backward compatible horsepower locks the game to 1080p60. Unfortunately, the level of performance of Sony’s enhanced machines fluctuates so much that the value of the upgrade was questionable at the time. Dark Souls 3 was released on the latest generation of systems in 2016, with a limit of 30 fps, but a few months later, the PlayStation 4 Pro patch lifted the limit and offered frame rates up to 60 fps. This is a much-requested upgrade for Xbox Series X and S owners, bringing the game closer to the PS5 performance profile. We had early access to the game’s FPS Boosted rendition, but it provides near-perfect performance on the Xbox Series console and works reliably. From Software Classic targets 60 frames per second with a new wave of Microsoft consoles, replacing the slightly volatile 30fps of the game’s Xbox One rendition.
